Pediatrician vs. old folks tale/medium

Near by the area I’m staying got no pediatrician clinic, so every time if the girls not feeling well have to drive all the way to the other side of town to visit the pediatrician.
When the girls just born, near by got one lady pediatrician, which is quite good. But before the girls reach one, she had moved to the other other side of town, even further than the current one we visit. we asked her why moving, she said her clinic on the 1st floor, no much people know about it, err…I still strange to her lar at that time, that was why she didn’t tell me the business no good because of other reason.
Well, hubby did wander why our area got no pediatrician, how come? The area we are staying is a residential area, lot families and babies and kids, no business?
Actually may be because this is an old town, the families mostly have three generation in one house, with the old folks in family is like with a encyclopedia at home, everything you want to know just ask the oldest in the family, you will have the solution. So baby jaundice will be bath with Guinness Stout or yellow powder (I guess they believe yellow powder effect is like using the yellow counter back the yellow, math said negative + negative = positive mah). And baby or toddler crying usually will be giving pearl powder珍珠粉, bo-ying-dan保婴丹.
If still no cure hor…Then don’t forget also this is an old town, which mean there are a lot of temples!
Huh…who know better than the Guan-gong关公, Na-zha哪吒, and Gao-long-wong 九龙王etc.? so go temple donate some money, you will have some yellow paper (foo符)with red colour writing on it. Usually the red colour ink is ju-sha 朱砂(Cinnabaris/Mercuric sulfide), or sometime during the birthday of the gods, the medium will cut his tongue then use the brush dip on the blood and write on the foo. Yirk! Imagine the person brought the foo home burn it and put in the water for the baby or toddler to drink, either the chemical cause damage to the liver or got infection from someone blood (ai yoh…what happen that medium got HIV but nobody know huh?).
Mother: “Ai yoh! Ah Boy got fever, bring see doctor.”
Grandma: “No need lah, give some bo-ying-dan.”
After two days.
Mother: “Ah mah, Ah Boy still fever leh, better bring see doctor.”
Grandma: “No need lah, last time when you all young that time where got see doctor for a little bit fever wan? Now the doctor very jia-lat, everything also injection, last time XXX’s son after injection died liao, don’t listen to the doctor lar. Later go Guan-gong miow(temple) ask, may be bump to some dirty thing, get a foo drink everything will be OK liao.”
Later in the Guan-gong temple.
Grandma praying in front of Guan-gong: “Guang-gong your highness, please take care of my Ah Boy, he is the heir of our ZZZ family, please bless him recover faster under your watchful eye, take care of him until he grow taller, healthier, very clever on study, after graduate can be a doctor.” !!!
No wander old town no pediatrician, susah cari makan leh.
