When someone specify a period of time to spend with someone special, they called it quality time, does it mean other time than this specific time are low quality, or simply no quality? Or may be let me put in this way–
Time is life, one minute of time one minute of life. So I will say quality time means quality life. Then this also mean when someone said they spend some quality time with someone, which mean only that period of time is quality life, the rest of time just wasting of life?
So, when we say :”during weekend I spend some quality time with my family/kids…” in the same time it also mean we are wasting our life on our career? then why we wasting our time like this? might as well quit the “low/no quality time” job spend more “quality time” with the family?
Every minute in our life is quality time. Eventhough at night when I sleep with my babies, my every single heartbeat fill up every single minute of their dream, so as my time with them 24/7, they hear every single voice I made, I hear their every single word, cry, and laughter. they see every corner I go, I watch every single step they have made.
Life is too short, if you want to label the two days with your baby is “quality time”, then your life even shorter, then during this even shorter of time, stuff your baby with books, word cards, math, let those books and cards take away your baby attention from you, then the time getting even more and more shorter.
May be you should accumulate the minutes that your baby actually look at you rather look at the books and cards, or the time baby actually hear your voice when you really talk to her, instaed of the monotone of ABC, 123. you might find you just managed to accumulated few hours out of the whole week. So when he grow up, your face are blur to him, and your voice just a background of all the alphabets and words.
So go and spend your time with your baby, just spend it, never ever mention about quality time, time are priceless, and we can never rate it.
