Listen but Not Understand

My friend gave an example to me:

Henry Ford never expect 100 years later the whole world will have over 5 billion cars with his first invention when everybody depend on horses, he is indirectly created biz like petrol, road builder, tyre, neighborhood n lots more…Colonel Kentucky accepted 1009 rejections n here v r enjoying KFC, McDonalds was brought to court coz suspected it’s a scam.

Then MCAP answer:
“Please wake-up. Time and situation has changed. What works last time doesn’t necessary work now. The examples you have given is totally irrelevant and useless. This people are pioneers in their fields. They have no competition. Your situation is entirely different. This is what I meant when I said you sound like a stranger doing a sales pitch / motivational talk. Don’t just listen like a robot and agree with everything a motivational person / book says. They are only meant to be a guide, not law. You need to filter out what is good and what is not. The way you talk is like a brainwashed robot.”

Another example given by my friend:

7-Eleven in Taiwan sell herbal eggs, there r more than 3000 outlets in Taiwan. Everyday only 50 eggs sold with a profit of 10 cts each. Guess what is the profit per year :

10¢ x 50 eggs x 30days/mth x 12mths/year x 3000 outlets = 5,400,000

*with only 50 eggs per day ( I know Purple cane in Mid Valley, sold 2000 eggs on a weekend) now, if 20¢ of profit ? more than 10 million.

My answer:
“Yar…people can simply afford to buy the eggs in dozen at one go, because the eggs only sold RM1 each, now you use it to compare the suppliment cost RM200/bottle you are selling.”
