Not in Holiday Mood liao

Sunday been out shopping from morning till late noon, came back home continued watching LOTR, no paper, no radio, no CNN, no BBC, no internet, until 9pm something online read 5xmom blog about her frantic escape from her house because of earthquake in Sumantra, and have a good laugh on her batik night dress.
After reading her blog immediately switch the channel to BBC, can’t laugh liao after see the dead toll, and wandering how is my own country. Knowing the center of the earthquake not so far from Malaysia, it definately will affect the coat line here (by remember the documentary about Japan badly hit by tidal wave which caused by the earthquake happen in Peru!), but local new was over, and no breaking news in local Tv channel, so I thought may be not that bad gua, little that I know…
reading 5xmom’s update, and jeffooi, Peter, Lucia and some others blog from Penang, started getting more and more solemn and upset. Thinking about the holiday makers, the family, the kids, nobody expect this will happen, not at all.
Any presage? may be, but nobody will have a single clue it will lead to tidal wave if they never know, like the sea water being suck back to the sea before the wave hit.
And read a mail from another support group, one mom said:”On a Sunday, she likes lounging on her balcony to enjoy the sea breeze. Today, she thought the waves looked
unusually pretty, so she was sitting out watching the waves. Suddenly, a
huge wave came up and swept everything and everyone on the beach into the
sea. She heard people screaming for their children and children were
screaming and crying. People were hanging on to whatever they could and she
saw children holding on to the rocks in the sea. Later, passers by helped
to pull out bodies from the sea and to help those who were injured. she
was devastated to see all this happening in front of her eyes.”
I just SMS my sister, hope she get to contact our cousin sister who work in the Golden Sand Hotel in Penang. I don’t know, my heart just pounding so hard, thinking about the family who lost their love one in this disaster…
