007
This tiara was one of my creation years ago, and also the tiara I like most.
Usually I don’t have any design in my mind when I start making a tiara, unless someone order a specific design, or they bring me the photo or magazine to show me what they want, otherwise I’ll just twist and turn the wire and make something out.
This tiara was one of the results of free-flow-design.
I started with left side then make the right side follow the left side, that was a bit trouble, I have problem to copy the exact same design from the left side, because I can’t turn the wire exactly the same width and diameter like the left side, eventually I did the right side, but took double effort than the left side *phew*.
I used copper wire to make this tiara, the copper wire wouldn’t get rusted, even though it will get oxidize a bit after sometime, but it is very easy to clean it. But there is always a problem to find nice crafting wire in
If can’t find copper wire can use the stainless steel wire to make it, can get this wire from fishing equipment shop! Tell the boss you need the stainless steel wire to fish shark, hahaha…I once told the boss I want this wire to fish gold turtle! Hahaha…
The 5 pieces of heart shape crystal was from Swarovsky Crystal, pretty expensive but worth the price, because it really gives a real sparkling effect. And this crystal will turn yellow tint when place on the black background, and turn blue when place it on white background, pretty cool shade.
The pearls is glass pearl from Czech, it look more real than the usual plastic pearl we got from the market, also the weight of the glass make it look more solid than the plastic.
So far I got two customers order this design before, both request the silver colour (which is stainless steel), but somehow I still find the yellow copper look more stunning than the silver. Err…I didn’t take picture of the silver tiara, because I have no camera then, all this I show it now was paid and shoot in the studio.

Really pretty. Looks like for a young girl’s party or something, because of the heart design. Where did you get the Swarovski crystal and Czech glass?
worst come to worst, electric hardware shops have nice thick copper wires (for winding motors). i’ve got a pair of earrings made from that.

Oh my, I’m so glad I came across your blog! I recently took up beading / jewelry making as a pastime
Your creations are gorgeous!!! Where do you get your supplies from? I only know of a few shops that sell beads in Selangor.
knitties, it is very good that you can find “few shops” in Sel;angor selling jewel parts, indeed very hard to come across.
I used to order my jewel parts from US, but now in KL jalan Silang I found one shop have 80% of the findings I need so no more order from US.
see this few days if I’m free, will put up some findings site link from oversea.
Alamak TM, your handiworks are so pretty …. I have always wanted to do this … but the parts are pretty expensive , right? That shop in Jalan Silang has lots of beautiful stuff that I cannot afford …. ;(((. Always go to the shop and drool drool drool only ….
hehehe, i also have leftover Swarovski crystal. few colours. thinking of to do bracelet for myself.
Pompit, yah, that shop always makes me spend a lot more than my barget :P.
