Just now read Big Bok’s post about her staff problem, some silly question her staff asked have make me laugh out loud, some time we can never understand how those question can be asked, it just doesn’t make sense, or may be the person who ask got no sense.
Since Big Bok’s post is protected by password, so I better not to link it here.
But her staff problem also remind me some of the people I work before, in the retail line.
During working in the bead shop, I happen to worked with quite a lot of youngsters, the staff turn over is huge in retail, that’s why you can see most of the reatil shop in shopping mall, a sign of employee wanted forever stick on the window or counter.
So, there was this girl about 17, she came to the shop look for job during the school holiday, we reluctant to hire student, but really no choice because really short of staff especislly during year end school holiday and festive season, so we took her in.
If you been to the bead shop, and you love bead accessery, then you will know how fun it could be if you get to wear those accesseries for free. But common sense we all know unless the company specially assign it as a uniform to us, otherwise we have no right to bring those accesseries home, and keep it like we bought it.
Then she happen to asked me this —
“is it FOC for all those necklaces I wear while working in the shop?”
“Yes, provided you don’t wear it home.”
“You mean if I wear it home I have to pay.”
“You can choose not to pay.”
“Oh! Thanks.”
“But then I will call the security.”

“I saw your friends are wearing those neckalces from the shop, you gave it to them?”
“No, how could you say that? they bought it.”
“When they bought it?”
“Last week.”
“Show me the receipt copy.”
“I can’t remember which day.”
“Sure you can , since you got memory which is so good, can even remember I missed your half and hour OT payment months ago.”
“May be I forgot to punch in their payment.”
“If you forgot to pucn in then there will be extra cash during end of the day sell figure right?”
“Yes.”
“But our cash register never have extra money wor, let alone the huge total amount of your friend’s ‘purchse’ wor?”
“…”
“Do I need to call the security to help you remember?”
“I will call them to return all the necklaces.”
“So which mean you admit you gave them the necklace without paying?”
“…”
“If any damage on the neckalces I’ll deduct from your pay.”

“I saw your girlfreind wearing the bead necklace, she bought wan?”
“Yah, she bought it.”
“The other day you told me she is not working now, and her mother is sick, then asked me to employ her, now she got the money to buy the bead?”
“She got saving.”
“That is an antique bead cost RM120, she sure can afford hor?”
“No lar, hehehe…I kidding lar, I bought for her wan.”
“You bought for her? So I deduct it from your coming salary?”
“OK… :cry:…”
“Don’t cry, you still got RMxxx in the end of the month, you can buy some more antique bead for her, you got good taste, she too.”

wahaha ROTFLOL, I just love the part about FOC. Some people just love asking silly questions.
