Blow Trumpet

I’m sorry I have to override Twinsmom’s serious post at the top about Chinese education with this blow trumpet post.

The trumpet is : I also got something in the mail from friends I know in blogsphere too. *haolian*

My friends, Jason and Munkit sent me a really nice card for my baby’s arrival. Really warms my heart. I haven’t been in touch with them for so long already.

Feel like crying.

Because Jason wrote something very touching. He said Miss Earthtone, now that you are a mommy, this is the last time you will be called Miss.

TA-MA-DE

You know, between the last time I said this and now, which is a few months ago, I’m still freakin’ 60 years younger than my Ah Por. So I’m still damn ABCDEFG young ok?

To prove my point, throughout my pregnancy, when I buy things, people still ask, “Xiao Jie, what do you want?” Xiao jie, ok? Not Auntie. Ok granted last time it was xiao mei, now become xiao jie (sigh). But still…

And, and, and kids don’t lie ok? I was using the toilet at my gynae’s clinic and when I came out, this little boy whose hand was held my his mom said, ” oh, jie jie has come out”

Jie jie - not auntie. Hmmm…so shiok man. Now kids dun lie, do they? Not this love, cute, darling, sharp-eyed little boy.

The whole point of this post is :-

Thanks bundles for the card, I really appreciate and enjoy receiving it. :) These guys are too sweet.

okay lah, damn. I’m an auntie. :(

I said hello to a graduate student from the PRC who was playing with his toddler son and he told the son, “Jiao a-yi.” me: “Oi! Bu yao jiao wo a-yi! I’m only 22!” PRC guy: “To him, everybody over 10 years old is a-yi…”

You must be in pretty good shape for kids to call you jiejie then. Like that Heidi Klum who just had a baby and straightaway went back to being a supermodel =) Congratulations on your little one.

sh#t! it’s been a long time since someone has called me jie-jie ok!….my neighbour’s kids…one about 8 years old and the other about 12 years old ALWAYS calls me AUNTIEEEEE when they see me. I’ve no doubt that they have very good manners indeed…but the sound of “AUNTIIEEE” just re-inforces the fact that I am no longer a jie-jie. *sobsob*!

yeah being called jie jie definitely feels better than being called auntie :)
tell u an embarassing story; when i was pregnant with my 1st one we (with PILs) adjourned to a club house after dinner, later the captain came to tell us politely that they only allow patrons above 21yo… indirectly refering to me being underaged!!

He must be very lack of maternal love. :P

Me and my friend always joke that we are
“Xi nine” after married. I like her reply when I called her Xi nine, her replied: “是, 我是师奶, 不过我是靓师奶。” 啊Q!
