OK, OK, I know this is overdue, kena tag by [ShiauLin](http://shiaulin.blogspot.com) long time ago (actually got another even longer time than this, [egghead](http://littleskywalker.blogspot.com/) tag me on [rountin check](http://littleskywalker.blogspot.com/2005/10/routine-check.html), but then I somehow *forgot* about it liao, sshh…)
1st — **ting-ting sweet 叮叮糖 & maltose lollipop 麦芽糖**
An oldman came with bicycle, with a big round tin pan on the back of the bicycle (this is for the ting-ting sweet), and a small tin pot hanging in front of the handle (this is for the maltose), came door to door, stop near by my dad’s bakery, and start ringing the bicycle bell “ting, ting, ting…”.
Forgot how much it cost for the sweet, only remember the oldman took out a small hammer, and a steel bar, placing the steel bar on the big pan of white colour milky sweet, and hammer the steel bar cracking the sweet.
The he place all the uneven shape of milky sweet in the plastic bag for us. Creamy, milky, and a bit chewy.
Sometime I got a change to the maltose lollipop, oldman using a bamboo stick swirlling in the maltose, then make it into a lollipop, sweet, but not the sugar kind of sweet, it have a mild fragrant, and also the taste of the sesame seed.
I think it have been 20 years I never taste this sweet.

2nd — **ju-cheong-fan 猪肠粉**
Also a door to door peddler, a motobike with a aluminium case on the back of the bike, the casing very compact, with a drawer where the noodle keeps, and a small stove to heat the soup, a few compartment to put the stuff beancurd sheet, and fish ball. then another compartment out side the casing was the condiment.
The extra soup and utensils all hanging around the bike.
Me and Twinsdad staying quite near, even though we don’t know each other by then, but we share a fond memory on this ju-cheong-fan — licking the sauce from the plate after finished the noodle! yah, that nice, it was.
Later on when I grown older, shy to licking the plate, and my mom also wrned me not to do so, so I asked for soup to wash down the sauce.
Also 20 years ago.

:b8:
3rd — **Philadelphia cheese**
One day my dad came home (bakery) with some baking ingredient, he put all the stuff in the fridge, but took out a white colour packaging block, place on the table, and ask me and Bridgette: “Want to eat ju-si? (要吃猪屎吗?)” We look at our dad know there is something new in the menu.
Then my dad open the packaging, a block of “butter” appear to our eyes, but it was whiter than butter. Then my dad cut out a thin slice gave to us.
Holy moly Good Lord… that was wonderful! Since than we are the slave of the cheese.
I still have a block of Philadelphia cheese in my fridge now :tmhappy:
:b8:
4th — **Chocolate**
I can’t recall when was my first taste of chocolate, I only know I LOVE chocolate. My whole family know I love chocolate, my ah-por came visit us from Singapore, also bought me a box of chocolate.
My dad experiment on the chocolate cake, guess who was the one who food tasted it? He made a 2kg chocolate cake with chocolate fudge topping, I finished for him in one day.
Just love it, still love it, but at least now I have the will to control it — replace it with ice Milo :tmlol:
:b8:
5th — **pork liver soup with ginger**
My mom made this soup for me since I started my mentrual, for Chinese we believe pork liver is for replenish our blood 补血, and ginger is for warming. I got this treat once or twice a month.
Mom heat the ginger in sesame oil, stir fry the liver, then pour in a bowl of hot water, add salt then a bowl of tasty, loving soup just for me.
I tried to cook this soup before, but somehow it never be the same like the one mom cooked for me, lack of a key ingredient, can you guess what it is?
Guess after you read this post, you will have an idea where my high cholestrol came from right? hahaha… high cholestrol or not, the life in the bakery sure prosperous.
*emm…I not going to tag anyone for this, but I wish it will bring out a lot of blogger’s childhood memory on food, please share with me if you have some food you can never forget, I will love to read it.*

I got tagged twice by 2 different blogger, but sad thing is that I can’t think of 5. There are too many that I wish to eat again. However, the only thing that will be on my list is my late grandmother’s chicken rice. (When she passed away, the first thing I thought was “Oh, no more chicken rice!”)
Your first food is still available in Malacca and Tampin though. But need some skill to find them. Sometimes they come out cycling around, sometimes they are no where to be seen. Heh, the thing is so hard and it looks like they are hitting a metal bar. I don’t really eat them though.
Ok, means the birthday cake Egghead bought for you ngam your sam sui loh~!
Heh, I know what to bring the next time I visit you.
of coz ngam maria’s sam sui ler… more or less all “ladies” also love chocolates mah… why else Jason think chocolates sell so well during Valentine’s day?
back to the topic, my wife also like 猪屎 very much… too bad we can only afford those mass production CheeseDale one
hahahahah ROTFLOL over 猪屎!!!

eh, I also have one package of Philly Cheese in fridge too; gonna make another type of cheesecake when free
ah you reminded me about the maltose lollipop… i like it too but bought from school canteen or sundry shop while waiting for school bus.
mmm..am not so keen with that pork liver thingy…;)
I remember the ting-ting sweet also! We called it “kok-kok teng”. There used to be a man who would cycle on an old bicycle with the circular tray behind him. And he would “kok-kok” bits of sweets out from the big hard circle. Delicious! It was such a treat and my favourite used to be pink! Hehe..
your item 1 and 2 also appeal to me lah… last time used to eat “kali chee cheong fun” at Pudu Wet Market very frequently and also get the “ting-ting” sweet outside Popular Bookshop at Petaling Street *yumm yumm*
yeah i love the ting ting sweet too!(me also called it kok-kok teng)
eh egghead, not all the “ladies” like chocolate ok, honestly i not really like it, BUT my hubby loves it
BTW, i like to buy chocolate for my nephews and nieces
**Jason**, what? you bring me ice Milo next time?…

**Egghead**, J love cheese too? great, got cheese buddy , CheeseDale I also got, making macoroni with cheese for the girls.
Emmm…even though if the ladies love chocolate, but it doesn’t mean we love to receive chocolate during Valentine wor, because…V day buy chocolate so commercial! 年晚煎堆人有我有!so… chocolate for normal day treat, V day something else …女人很麻烦咧?
:b2:
**DG**, Whao…you so into cheese cake hah?
I still can find ding-sing sweet, but maltose lollipop don’t see anymore leh.

**mam2ashley**, yah, not many people can accept the pig intestine :D.
:b4:
**Stargazer**, whao…you got pink colour kok-kok-teng? 8), I only had white…I love pink.

**Sue**, yah, in front of Petaling Street Popular Bookstore got one ting-ting sweet, don’t know still there or not.
:b6:
**ShiauLin**, so you sure your nephews and nieces love chocolate?…
Can still get the tingting tong in Petaling Street I think. Last time saw an elderly man selling in front of Popular. But taste a bit different liao. Don’t know why.
I love 猪屎 too. The smellier the better, got mould one better. (That’s why our fridge stinks) LOL
Egghead generalised all ladies like choc. I don’t like as well. Especially after we climbed Mount KK, and along the way, chocolate was our only food (for energy). Now think of it also still jelat.
Zara’smum, YAH, it taste different. But I think may be our taste bud got spoilt by the increasing type of sweet already :(.
wow I love mak nga tong oso lehh…wonder where can get now…mom used to buy it then chill it and we eat from the fridge. yummy
Jazzmint,
yah, so cooling from the fridge. I have a tub of maltose in my fridge now, but it is for cooking, try to use chopstick swirl it but it would work, not thick enough :P.
Wah, I love the Ginger and Liver soup. Haven’t been eating it for very very long time. The aroma just lingers and it’s unforgettable.
Another thing is Putu Mayam with gula Melaka, an Bangoli man used to come in his motobike selling them, my mon loves them, so I get to eat and like it too.
maria, from my neices and nephews reaction when they saw the chocolate, i knew i have chosen the right present for them 争抢骗偷,百招齐出!
AllyFeel, putu mayam was Twinsdad’s childhood food :D.
