Euro-Deli’s Smoked Pork Knuckle

Few days ago bought a pack of smoked pork knuckle from Euro-Deli,
But then I don’t know what I going to do with it, I just like to try out this knuckle, because I like smoked stuff (smoking not included). Together I also bought some pork ribs.
After got home, staring at the knuckle, the colour of the smoked knuckle really looks nice, after open the air tight packaging, the aroma of the smoked pork really drill into my brain.
that night before go to bed, I took out three carrots, few stock of celery, one big onion (bigger than the rice bowl!), 4 tomatoes, together with the smoked pork knuckle all cut into chunk.
Deep fry one grove of garlic in the wok, thorw in the knuckle chunk, stir fry till the knuckle looks more brown, then add in all the veggies, fry for a while, pour in about 1.5 litre water, let it boil, then transfer all into the slow cooker, add a tea spoon of ground pepper, cook overnight.
The next morning when I open the door between the kitchen and living room, I can already smell the aroma of the soup. add a bit of salt, because the smoked pork knuckle already a bit salty, so a little bit of salt will be enough.
It was heaven… will try to cook this soup again, if don’t take pork, the Euro-Deli’s smoked turkey wing also work well.

Reads like very complicated stuff ler. Hmm.. What is smoked actually? Use smoke from the fire to “cook” it har?

all the ingredients look like 酸辣菜 ler… after stir fried all put in slow cooker eja ahh? hmm..hope to try it lah since not much preparation work to do..hehe

that day, after cooking that “nai lap har” hor, i still have almost one can of evaporated filled milk in my fridge lar….what to do with it? Anymore recipe using this ingredient to share??

I don’t take pork one.. see if i can the turkey to make it. Expensive or not Euro Deli stuff?
Btw, Christmas coming, sure got a lot of roast turkey left, can use to make same dish?
Zara’s mum, if don’t take pork, can use the Smoked turkey wing, can get it from carrefour non-halal section, about RM3-4 for the turkey wing (one piece, very big).
But get some chicken drumstick to add in the soup as well if you want to have more meat, because the turkey wing after long hour boil it become quite 材 (dried?).
wah, looks yummy. sure will try cos King and Ally are pork lovers. But doesnt the meat become too soft, if cook in the slow cooker overnight?
actually the smoked pork is kind of give a flavor to the soup and veggie, the meat will be quite dry and hard, can add some pork rib, my mom said slightly deep fried and pork rib first wor, then the meat will not be all soft and dissolve in teh soup. that day when I cook, I forgot about the pork rib, what a bumber.
aiya…soooooooooo hungry now!
It reminds me of the “siu chu kiok” roasted pig’s leg soup!

That looks absolutely delicious!! I wish I could just throw something together like that, but unfortunately I have to have a recipe or else it tastes like crap!
