I think I can almost give it a wrap with breastfeeding..I dun want to try anymore. Each time I fight Baobao at the breast, I begin to wonder if the whole thing about breastfeeding is good for him or for my own sake. Just to satisy myself I’m doing it for his good. So give up.
He looks a little embarassed when I put him to the breast. See he even covers it up ( no lah, just accidental for this picture.) Godd thing i took this picture, so that I can tell him he was breastfed next time. Maybe he will then be led to think he should be smart and be smart as a result ? heh….
Let me share the joy of bottle feed. Actually I think just plain feeding, whether breast or bottle is a nice experience. I love to see his intense look when he first grab the bottle. He would freeze at whatever postition he is in and all the concentration is at the sucking. I think babies are just plain cute this way. Once he was in this going-to-run-away position. So funny.
Sometimes he would be tapping his feet in a certain rhythm which is the same as his sucking.
Too bad he has to wear mittens in case he scratches himself cos the fingers are a wonder to watch too. The palm will open up in tension and freezes in that position until he ’s not so hungry anymore.
Today after fighting and lost at trying to latch him, I consoled myself by looking at the bubbles his sucking created in the bottle. Wow….really nice leh…they are the same size and each time he sucks, new bubbles arrive and arreange themselves on the milk surface in some kind of geometrical pattern… I wonder why.
Another good thing about bottle feeding is, his father can share this act of bonding by feeding him too..both seem to enjoy it. His father does it ok, except he doesn’t wipe Baobao’s mouth clean. All he seems to do is put the hankie to the boy’s mouth and dab. whether it fully cleans the milk trace, he d0esn’t seem to care. As he is incharge of the early morning feed, each time I wake up to feed Baobao, I know he was last fed by his father by the white goatie he was left with.
tell you what-
I kind of relief too…otherwise I will wander everyday — did you manage it, now worry no more *phew*….
counting bubbles? OK lar, next time if any mother feel terrible because couldn’t breastfeed baby, I will tell them look-open-a -bit lar, counting bubbles also very nice what :lol:…
oh, must use the pigeon bottle with perislistic teats you gave me to get that. heh.

well… you will find that breastfeeding is extremely benefitial to him when he is growing up… he will have better immune system mah
