Near CNY the price of food usually will increase, especially seafood like prawn.
here is a tips to get the prawn earlier, and keep it fresh (at least) until CNY reunion dinner.
dissolve 1 table spoon of sea salt (or any coarse salt, not the table salt) in 2 litre of water, place the prawn in container, cover it with the salt water, keep it frozen.
remove it to fridge for de-frost before use.
with this method, the prawn can keep in freezer for one month, and still taste sweet and fresh.

wouldn’t the prawns be salty after that???
the salt just enough make the water salty like sea water, so it wouldn’t make the prawn salty, been tested for three years liao ;).
Eiks! I thought we should put sugar instead of salt leh cos I always put sugar and cover the prawns with water. The prawns will still be very fresh and ‘tan nga’ after defrosted. *scratch head*
which ever way you find it work then just follow lor. this tip was passed by a fish monger in the wet market.
thank you.. will go and ‘lap’ my prawns this w/end.
