okie…the update is….I’m very busy at work these few days. 1Q review is coming and I’m building up the P&L template for like 200-300 cost centres and projects. I dunno why it’s especially difficult this time what with the added entry requirement of orderbook info in the templates and most probably you won’t know what the fish I am talking about because only I myself and the colleague who sits next to me understands.

Anyway, Baobao is recovering from the surgical wound. Went back for review last Friday and Dr Yeow said, “good good..” Will be going back for another review this Friday.
He has got a screw inserted between the hind skull bones. There’s now a small chain hanging out from his head and he looks like a little robot. Looked like Baby Frankinstein last week with the staples on. Would you believe it? They stapled the skin back after the surgery. The exact kind you use for your notice board. The staples were removed last Friday and boy, did he bawl when it happened… Cause what did they do? Use what the document clerks use to remove his staples. kind of like a clamp with flat blades.
We are given a screw driver and suppose to turn the chain 2 times per day. Each time we turn, the skull gets pushed apart by 0.5mm. So far, it’s been pushed 1.5cm. He is suppose to naturally adapt to this by readjusting his own skull bones too.
His head is definitely broader now. Not narrow like before. Before the surgery, he looked like he was wearing a narrow cap and he looked abit stressed. Now the whole head has broadened up and he looks much more relaxed. Still it doesn’t look round. Its like some kind of fishball made by an amatuer. Not nicely round at all. But I’m not too worried as I think it will round up slowly.
I’m really glad he has gone through this surgery, although I was worried sick about the risk (even though low risk). I have a cousin whose son who had a hammer shaped head when he was born. I suspect he may have had the same condition but there was no diagnosis. Now he a little attention deficit. But i’m not sure he really did have that condition and not sure if it’s due to that.
I had read from the internet of a baby who went for the surgery later at nine months old and he had to go for further speech therapy and others later. Hoping against hope Baobao will be fine. Please still say a little prayer for me. Thanks!
Whenever we mentioned about the surgery, everyone said he’s only so small, asked us to get a second opionion. Almost EVERYONE objected at first instance. I had many doubts myself too. I’m so glad now the surgery is over.
Now looking at his more relaxed head, I feel ( not think ) it’s such an important thing to do. As I subscribe to chakra theory. The skull opens up and he can receive more wisdom from the universe. That just feels so important, to me as a mother.
When he came back home form hospital two Fridays ago, he’s difficult like when he was just born, had to re-adapt again to everything. Now as he goes back to his routine, he’s getting easier to take care again. Also rememebers to be naughty too!Even though he doesn’t know it and even though he didn’t have a choice, I’m still very proud of him.
And admist all these chaos, hey Baby has started to turn! He’s getting on fine as I see..

ET, Happy Birthday! I’ve too been lost in the mountains of work so din manage to check up on what happened to Zi Heng. He’s doing well I see? Although I’m not sure what happened but I do hope for only the best for his health. Mainly, its because he’s really a cute guy!

It’s really good news to hear dat the scary surgery is over and ur little fella is getting on well. Can clearly understand how u had been going thru. Don’t worry, we’ll be praying for him. U take care too.

michelle - no more surgery required. by end of one month or two, when the adjustment done, just pull out the metal chain. somehting left inside will dissolve over a year..
