夜半捕鼠记（一）

我家的老鼠小家碧玉似的，不能见大场面，白天驻足深闺足不出户。胆子更不用说了，小到用放大镜也只能刚刚看得到。但是说它胆子小嘛，看看它在晚间出没于厨房，旁若无人（那个时候是没人）的潇洒大方，和把我的快熟面每包咬一口的气度，我却也怀疑我是不是看错它了。可能它并不胆小，只不过长得不像米奇，有点自卑，所以不爱在光天化日之下见人，要不一看到亮灯就躲。
原本我们都相安无事，坏在自从我们的厨房从新开放后，鼠姐鼠哥都闻香而来。路过倒不妨，吃了砸坏碗碟还可以忍受，咬穿了垃圾袋给工我做也还罢，但是留下大便和细菌那就太过份了。不行！得乘它们还没酿出祸来把它们干掉。
当然是干掉它们了，残忍？那我还能怎样？还打包送去给SPCA不成？你说他们收不收？再说 “己所不欲，勿施于人”， 别说送给SPCA，送给邻居也不行！送给你你要不要？当然还有一招 “掩耳盗铃” 的方法，就好像我家大姑奶，用捕鼠笼诱捕了老鼠，然后带去屋外的沟渠边把它给放了，说是 “给它一个教训。”，翻白眼是不是？所以它们只有一条路，就是 — 死路。
好嘛，就在新年之前我们下定决心展开剿鼠行动后，就在五金店买了粘鼠片。一盒两片，一片大约8寸乘4寸，放一片在靠近垃圾袋的附近，等好戏看。
我们普遍都睡得晚，就在当晚夜半两点钟，我们听到了“吱吱吱吱…”，夹带着挣扎时粘鼠片拖地的声音，太好了！
赶到厨房一看，是只小老鼠！我和爱人你看我我看你，我们都知道要捕鼠，我们都知道它非死不可，可是我们从来没有讨论过怎么将它送死。
现在它正在粘鼠片上挣扎，还没死呢。那我们得先掐死它？用热水烫死它？打死它？不如干脆就把它活生生放进塑胶袋绑紧了，窒息而死？但是如果它死不去，咬破塑胶袋逃生，纠众回来报仇… 那可怎么办？
两人站在厨房看着那小老鼠，看了半个小时。后来爱人说：“好吧，就打死它罢。你先出去。” 哟，真英雄，没嫁错郎。
我求之不得：“小声点吓，别吵醒两个小的。”
过了半个小时，爱人铁着脸，提着一个绑紧的塑胶袋从厨房出来。
“打死了？” 他点点头，然后把袋子拿到楼下大门前先放着。
安心了？不…
第二天晚上又听见老鼠的声音！天！还有？
于是又放一片粘鼠片，又粘了一只小老鼠。好嘛，大概是兄妹俩吧。如法炮制，施与棍刑打包了事。
过了两天…
还蛮残忍的嘛!
如此手段我则做不出呢!
去年我家也来了只小房客, 老婆提议类似方法, 我则叫他把吃的, 喝的和肥皂都放在老鼠爬不到的地方. 久而久之, 我们的小房客便因找不到食物吃则自己迁出了. 它还欠我们房租呢! 看在仁慈名义上, 算了吧! 而老婆也偷偷认同我的方法了
唉呀，一点点房租就不要和它计较啦。
我试过你说的方法，可是结果我单是洗它们留在瓶瓶罐罐上的脚印就够忙了，然后它们还尝试咬破塑胶罐咧，连橱的木门也不放过，挟辣！
Since the rat already sticked on the piece of paper…
1) feed it poison with a cotton bud.
2) put it under the sun.
3) throw it to a backroad with lots of cats.
4) pour boiling hot water on it.
哎呀！ 今天是初一哪。
I am so afraid of mouse the awfully big one not Mickey mouse.
We had rat brother visited us a few times. The last time being the worst. Shit everywhere, all my macoroni and dry food leaking resulting of its serious biting. We trapped them for days before it kena con and trapped. Hubby and me are hopeless and just threw it in the big longkang far far away from our house. I know you will hate us. Just hope that it wasn’t the longkang behind ur house.

虽然它们是该死，但我再怎么也是下不了手用棍送它归西（呵…我怕那个血溅肉烂的场面，想到也恶心）。顶多我会把它关在笼里放在外头任它雨淋日晒，自生自灭。
My house also got this problem.. My husband ah.. use broom stick whacked the bugger until become rat pattie, throw into double layered rubbish bag, then tied dead knot, and put under the sun..
But ours.. quite big, like the hand of our palms.. I see also I very ‘geli’.. Some more every night do tap dancing on our roof.. Maybe should do what you do.. buy those sticky paper..
Eh.. you write Chinese very well ler.. Pei Fu!
OMG, yah beat very cruel leh..
I buddhist lah, hear already feel very uneasy. No suggestion how to dispose though..

Poison? Take those termites poison mah can already loh~! Or just pour some clorin/clorox or dettol.
Rat flea? Aiyer, its all over what. Nevermind lah. Put it further abit loh.
aiyah……!!! maria, u shud take for milly!! so that milly can learn dissect 1st mah…!! apala….
i can learn dissect for free rat…wahahha…. next time u catch aredi simpan for me….hehehe…so that i can save up RM9 to buy a rat to dissect…

Ah.. my sentiments exactly! Totally hate mice… one gone, another 10 will come!

you reminded me of the scene many years ago, when I was still staying with my parents.
we also had rat problem, and dad also put the sticky glue on the cardboard. We managed to catch a few small rats. Then one night, I woke up going to the toilet, saw a HUGE rat got stuck there. Quickly woke my dad up, coz the rat was so strong that it was trying to pull itself out. Dad was a bit blur and sleepy - when he was trying to catch the rat by pulling the board, he aimed wrongly. The rat bite him so hard and refused to let go.
We had to bit the rat’s head so hard and so many times until it pengsan. Dad’s hand bleed so badly, and immediately we had to send him to doc for stiches!
The scene is still horrible to me now. The whole kitchen floor was with blood. Geli, geli, geli!
Milly, the rats you used for dissection is white rat, not these black rat lah. There rat bring diseases and is not clean. You need to buy lab rats one. -____-”
哇!很残忍叻!!我宁愿拿去远远的地方丢也不敢杀生. 我看过我的姨丈把它给淹死,但我看了很可怜.如要我去打死它更加不行啦.
