Garlic, green onion roast chicken

Food | 笔者: Twinsmom

The other day watch Jamie Oliver’s cooking programme, saw he stuff the garlic underneath the skin of the chicken, I thought want to do the same.

But then my oven not big enough for a whole chicken, and anyway we can’t finish one whole chicken, so I decided to use chicken thigh.

chop half clove of garlic, and one stalk of green onion, mixed with three table spoon of oil, salt and pepper to taste.
garlic and green onion mixture

separate the skin from the fresh, and slice the flesh.
Naked chic

stuff the mixture underneath the skin.
stuff the chicken

apply some soy sauce on the skin, and pour a bit oil on the chicken thigh.
soy sauce for colour

bake in 250* heat for 20 minutes, take it out, apply soy sauce again, and bake for another 15 minutes.
garlic and green onion roast chicken

The garlic and green onion penetrated the meat, and the skin is salty and brown, very rich flavour.

Wei, wei, wei, ask u something. U have a recipe book on how to cook food making use of the oven? Can get from MPH?

For this recipe, u separate the skin from the thigh and stuff in the ingredients, then u pull the skin back, rite?

U really tempted me for digging out my trusty oven from the storeroom (FYI, my trust oven sudah ‘dar lok lung kung’ in the storeroom unless b4 CNY).

    >> iNsunN, Suzette, yap, bake or roast. green onion=spring onion, hehehe forgot we usually call it spring onion.

    >> Milly, I just put salt in the mixture, not on the chicken, because my girls can’t take too salty food.

    >> msau, don’t lar accuse me too soon, wait for my next post to explain :P .
you now 大肚轮钝 how to cook leh?

    >> Jefferene, not very difficult to seperate the skin, just tear it carefully.

    >> Rachel, :) , all because of the girls and hubby’s stomach.

    >> Fashionasia, no, I didn’t wrap it, just place it on the foil and bake, if cover it I think the skin would borwn nicely.

    >> Tracy, I do have a lot food mag, and I browse the recipe very time go to bookstore, but never buy, just curi idea. I saw got specially for oven wan before.

yes, have to pull the skin back, if can use the toothpick to secure the skin lagi best, never thought about that when I make.

ai yoh… take out the oven and make use of it lar, poor thing gather dust aje.
