森林和原野 — 青燕子
Once this is a forbidden song in Malaysia, at least 30 -40 years ago, when the Malaysia Communist still active. My parents told me.
Why this song was forbid, just because the song contain the word “forest”, Malaysia communist active in the forest then, so if one said “my brother joined to the forest.” means his brother has joined to the Malaysia communist.
Why my parents told me this, because when I was born, my grandmother came from Singapore to take care the confinement, then she by-the-way carried some of my father’s books from Singapore back to KL for him. At the Malaysia customs check point, the officer found this song in one of the song book, and my grandma being detained for a night in the lock up, released on the next day but forfeit all the books.
That was 38 years ago.
So now whenever my mom hear this song, she will say “because of this song, your ah por had sepnt a night in the lock up…”
And during my secondary school, one day I sing this song during the music class, my music teacher told me not to sing it in the public anymore.
That was 23 years ago.
And now… nobody remember or know about this “history”.
wah..now only i noe…then now how?? stil have ot lock up?? ahha..if really..then Msau is the 1st 1 to go?? kidding..cos she also put this song ler..!! for me is a kiddy song for me..last time i heard…

My husband also got lock up by Custom when he first visited KL with me.(We went to HK and I came back to KL first, He stay for few more days and came alone to KL.)Why he got lock up..?Er.. cause he brought some retriction item in… what iszzt???

Oh this song! When i listen here only knew that my FIL always sing at home ler! He did join choir, and they sing it during one of his performance too! So now everyone of us can sing lor!

Ei! Is dat a banned song? 森林和原野 wor, there is the Cantonese version sung by Dicky Cheung (張衛健) wor. Maybe the lyrics are different.
