Just like most hotel foods, to be more precise — the foods from the terrace garden restaurant that almost every hotel and resort has (like a canteen in a better setting, can’t they think of a better name?), the taste so so only (but Hyatt JB was good).

But in the Swiss Garden Pantai Balok Kuantan, the terrace garden restaurant top their average taste foods with bad service, how about that?

The waitresses were not prompt to serve, we had sat sit down for quite a while, waiting for the menu and taking order.
Not well informed about the specialties they offer. SIL asked her what their specialty were, and she gave a annoying look “just order lar, why you ask so much”, but she didn’t know I was watching her expression, later when she found out I was staring at her, she just smirked! I couldn’t believe my eyes.
Not well aware of the availability of the foods. Came back and told us they didn’t have what we ordered.
Long waiting time for the foods we ordered. There were only two tables of guests, but we waited for more than half an hour to get our foods.
Procrastinating. Twinsdad asked for soysauce… three times! waited for 5 minutes! passing around within three staffs (there were not under staff right? since so many to passing the message around). And even when the foods we ordered were ready at the counter, nobody send it to us! until we asked the staff “Are those at the counter we ordered?” then only we have the foods infront of us!!!

half way waiting for our foods I bueh-tahan (can’t stand it) anymore, I took the questionnaire card from the table and started writing. Then the waitress started to fill the water, and the waiter came to talk to the twins, say hi. tsk tsk tsk… don’t look down at the small piece of paper. I left my complaints in the questionnaire, and simply placed it on the table, that is, they want to read it throw it up to them.

I had a pleasant stay in Swiss Garden Damai Laut last year, and I blog about it and sent a link in the e-mail to their management, the management replied to me and told me to inform them if I visit SGDL again. So, I will do the same too to the Swiss Garden Resort Pantai Balok too, they have no idea how the internet search engine work.

If you think that was bad, wait until the evening… Me and SIL brought the girls and Daniel to the lounge for ice-cream, we passed by in the morning, and saw the ice-cream menu, as promised we went for it in the evening. We sit down and the service just same like the morning — nobody to serve us! Nevermind, may be they were “under staff” again, SIL called one of them, the waitress came put down two menu and left, we open the menu… were liquor menu! hey, can’t you see we have three kids here? bring us the ice-cream menu! There they are.

8 scoops of Nestle ice-cream RM46<>.

We can’t help but compare them with the staffs in Swiss Garden Damai Laut (SGDL), they were no par to the SGDL staffs.

But still, if not because of the experience in the F&B, we generally quite OK with this resort.

May be like what Vien comment — if we are foreigner then their service will be more efficient. I have no doubt about it, sad though but true, at least I saw this kind of double standard service in Bangsar Shopping Complex’s Deli France.

Well lets see if the mgmt responds to your email and post this time. Once I wrote a very nice polite complaint letter to the mgmt of a 5 star hotel but never got any reply which irked me even more because to me every complaint letter no matter how trivial deserves a reply and looking into. That to me is customer service.

Wow I tot I had it bad in Casuarina Hotel in Penang. Hey I read somewhere that do not complain when you are in the restaurant. You can complain after you eat all your food. You never know what they do in the kitchen.
