Swiss Garden Resort Pantai Balok, Kuantan -- Pool side

We found that this resort has a lot of “rules and regulations” for the guests, another example was not more than three towels allowed for one room, regardless if there are kids (reason was there were not enough towels, that is the most silly excuse I have ever heard in the this business — a resort does not have enough towel for their guests).

And we were given two “pool towel card” upon our check-in, that is for us to “claim” our poolside towels, one card for each towel, so we have three adults and two kids go to pool, still two towels (me, Twinsdad and SIL had to use t-shirt!). I got upset about this, yes, may be because there was outsider came to the pool and simply write a name or room number to get the towels and not returned it, but the resort should have other solutions to sort this out, instead of restricted the guests from their service (and don’t forget, we paid for them OK!).

But then there was something good about the poolside management — the “swimmer” cannot go into the pool without proper swimming gear. And there were staffs to enforce it, blow the whistle when seeing someone dip the pool with their usual clothes (but why not go over and tell the person instead? make the guests pai-seh in the public is a no-no).

This is something very important for all, take note that the swimming pool already dirty enough with so many people peeing swimming inside, so if the management close one eye for everyone jump in with their clothes, the swimming pool will be a giant washing machine instead. And BIL#2 even rate one of the east coast resort’s pool as “kolam cuci kaki” (washing leg pool).

Lifegaurds are around all the time to ensure the safety, which is a plus point (Twinsmom don’t know how to swim, you see).

The pools are well exposed to sunlight (Hyatt Regency Johor Bahru’s swimming pool surrounded by trees), so the temprature of the water is not so cold, just nice, otherwise the girls will shiver once they get into the water (like when we stayed in the Hyatt JB, the water was cold! even in the late afternoon), and can’t play for long.
