Double Happiness closing down

OK, after almost two weeks of off blogging in Double Happiness (I still blog on and off in the Chinese blog), I decided to close it.
Yah, I am no longer blogging in Double Happiness using English or Manglish, there are many reasons behind this decision, beside what Jason mention in the previous post.
After 2 and a half years of blogging, I find my English still not improve up to the standard I want, I feel very disappointed to myself, no matter how hard I am trying, it just doesn’t grows in me, and so often I found myself can’t really express well with my standard of English, so I decided to quit and concentrate on my Chinese.
Since I blog in English, I use English to think most of the time too, and recently I even need to check dictionary for certain Chinese word when I writing the articles for papers and magazine, becasue I don’t know what it call in Chinese, or I forgot what it is in Chinese. And because of this I speak English with the girls instead of Chinese most of the time.
I enjoy reading my Chinese blog from time to time, but I not really enjoy reading my English, this show I still very attach to Chinese.
See? I caught in between, not here nor there. So I decided to stop blogging in English.
And then I found I got plenty of free time during the break, and I feel so rest and relax. And I love this kind of feeling, so I decided to carry on in this way.
Even though in Chinese blog, there are things I am not going to blog about it, especially about the twins.
The girls are growing up, I realised I couldn’t catch up with their growth, I used to write down the new words or phrases they learn, but now too much for me to take note.
And I don’t think they will appreciate what their mommy did, by telling everyone what they did when they was young, just like I dislike my mom tell aunties how I behave when I was young.
So the Chinese blog will be remine as a blog for only myself, and also breastfeeding support for Chinese educated moms.
Once blogging is a tool for me to get away from boredom and depression, and I still thankful for Lilian who introduce blogging to me.
During this 2 and a half years of blogging, I got to meet a lot of friends, some came to my house eat and eat and eat, some came to my house get “original copy” of kids show :mlol:, some appreciate the jewelleries I made and order from me, some of you sent presents for the twins! and some of you even throw a surprise birthday party for me, and that made an utmost special event during my blogging period, and I thanks everyone for this sincerely.
But now is the time I concentrate on the twins’ growth.
So, here by I closed down the Double Happiness. The blog will still be here, but I will not update it anymore.
For the friends who can’t read Chinese, there is something call e-mail right? we still keep in touch :mh2:

My Mentor Quits Blogging…
The other day my colleague chatted with me, he asked when did I started to blog? Thinking back to the day I started to blog… I started my blog in Jan 2005, during that time it wasn’t a blog, just a few pages, stupid look website, and pauloo…

Your blog is the first thing I read when I get to the office. The past weeks when there was no new post to read, I was already ’sum lor lor luin’ like something is missing. and now you even say you want to close shop….hah??? what am I going to do?? and worst of all, I can’t read chinese. I respect your decision but I do hope you’d change your mind and ‘chung chut kwong woo’. You’ll be sooo missed. Keep in touch, yeah.

Very very sad to hear this piece of news, ever since I stumbled upon ur blog I have been readin religiously, it kept my spirits up & my hopes of one day becoming a good mum.
I looked forward to alot of pointers & marveled at your creativity, in fact I have gone thru your archives & Ive found that your English has really improved, sad to hear that you say it hasnt, I really think it has!
Besides I have always thought that the language is super important, so happy to see someone like you constantly try to improve, teaching your children as well, because there are not many people out there who do that anymore =(. Really wish you werent giving up on this blog because of this.
But as for your reason of wanting to spend more time with your twins, this I totally understand & respect, even salute you! I wish my mum had a blog or journal I could read to track back about myself when I was young, or know how she was when she first had me. So when you say maybe your twins wont like the blog next time, I think that is nonsense! They sure will LOVE it!
I know I would have.

the reason about my quit mainly because of the girls, my English… sounds like a lousy excuse
But really, I don’t know, may be sometiem later, when I have more free time I will blog in English again, I don’t know. But now it is just the right time for me to stop.

Hmmm… I’ve been a silent reader for your blog, you are the first blog that I really check everyday. A bit sad that you are closing down ‘Double Happiness’. I will drop by your chinese blog once in a while, Hope you will enjoy the free time and wish that the belles will grow up well.

Hi Maria, I totally respect your decision. I’ve contemplated closing down my blog at one point. This started off as an interest, and when it becomes a burden, its a sign for you to stop.
I look foward to reading your Chinese blog though. You write extremely well.
